No longer posting on IG or FB, I want a place to hold a few photos and thought you, Reader, might like to see what we’ve been up to. Here’s an old fashion blog post and a few updates.

In March, we drove up to Lisle, IL, to check out Universal Technical Institute, where Clark hopes to go in 2024. The school seems perfect for Clark. It’s hands-on, challenging, and offers a ton of opportunities. We are so excited for him.

In April, we drove to VA with family friends so Clark, his friend, and his friend’s dad could play in an airsoft tournament. The girls on the trip went on a rainy ghost tour in Williamsburg, visited the VA Beach aquarium, walked a LOT, dipped our toes in the chilly Atlantic, and said hello to Neptune. We also had a quick overnight with one of my oldest and sweetest friends. It was one of the highlights of my trip, for sure.

A week later, I drove to Clarksville, IN, with Clark to check out another new to him car. The first one was vandalized beyond repair. We have hopes this one will take him on many adventures for many years to come. It’s in good shape mechanically but is still a “project car” he can learn from. His dad is super jealous his 17-year-old owns a Porche, and we’re both incredibly proud. He’s paid 100% thanks to the many hours he’s put in at Steak and Shake since September.

Sophia, who is almost as tall as me (ALMOST), continues to spend a lot of her time making art. You can check out some of her work on @artsyfartsy465. She’s also a newly Red Cross-certified babysitter (local friends- she’s looking for work) and volunteers at our favorite science museum, Wonderlab, most weeks. Homeschool these days looks like art, the outdoors, working to save money for clay and glaze, business math, and more art. We’ve also read Ghost Boys (a book I think everyone should read), Are You There God It’s Me, Margaret (super nostalgic for me, S was not a fan), and we’re currently reading The People of Sparks. Next up is, The Turtle of Michigan (the sequel to The Turtle of Oman) and Two Degrees, a book I’ll be teaching a class on this fall.

In other news, my husband and I are excited to re-open our Airbnb in July of 2023. If you come to Bloomington, Indiana, we’d love for you to stay with us!

I continue to be happier off of social media than on. I’m spending more time outside, which is good for my mind and soul. I’m teaching a lot, which I also love, and I have plenty of time to write, make art, and dream. You can find all my class offerings in my shop. I also co-lead monthly workshops for Kindred Explorers, and my semester writing circle for women begins again in September.

My husband and I just celebrated 21 years of marriage. Wild! He’s just finishing up the semester but will be traveling a bunch this summer for the Posse Program and a research trip.

Spring has been sweet! I hope life is treating you well. If we’re not already in touch, please join my newsletter below. I’d love to meet you. If we already know one another, send me a message. How’s life?

I hope to offer these seasonal updates every season, so until then, happy Spring and Summer.
