Online ELA Classes

Creative ELA offers online English language arts classes for kids and teens all year long. Each class runs for an hour and is designed to help students learn and enjoy learning.

There are many classes to choose from! Below you’ll find the 2026 schedules for each class. They can also be downloaded here.

Creative ELA Classes 2026

Reading and Writing Workshop

  • 4th-6th grade- Tuesdays, September-May, 12 pm ET
  • 7th-8th grade- Tuesdays, September-May, 1 pm ET
  • High School- Wednesdays, September-May, 12 pm ET

Reading and Writing Workshop classes offer students an online group class to learn and practice reading strategies, literary discussions, written analysis, and the elements of a variety of genres. More information about each class and a scope and sequence of what we are learning can be found here.

Creative Writing Classes and Book Clubs

  • 8-11 year olds meet year-round on Thursdays at 12 pm ET
  • 12+ meet meet year-round Thursdays at 1 pm ET

Creative writing classes and book clubs invite students to learn, read, and write in a community.

Creative Writing Studio—First Thursday of the Month. Students bring writing pieces they are working on or are welcome to start something new. Prompts, time to write, and time to share are provided.

Creative Writing Classes—Second and Third Thursdays of the Month. Each month (and year) these classes change to offer a wide variety of topics, genres, and experiences.

Book Clubs—Fourth Thursday of the Month*. Students discuss and write about books club members have recommended.

*Book clubs do not meet in May or December.
