The number one reason I homeschool is so my children find as much joy as possible in learning. I want them to see learning as something they get to do, rather than something they have to do. Vacuuming is a chore. Learning something like math shouldn’t be. Can everyone enjoy learning math? I think so. Math, like all subjects, can and should be interesting, but enjoyment and learning only go hand in hand when the curriculum and learning style mesh with the learner.

Over the years, we’ve tried on a lot of curriculums and ways to learn. I think trying on new ways of learning is important. How do we know if something is going to be a good fit unless we try it on? We’ve found hands-on curriculums that allow my homeschooler to work at her own pace, offer a variety of ways to practice, and offer clear instruction are the best fit! A good fit is vital if we want our kids to enjoy learning. Kids need to be comfortable and be able to move around in the challenges that come with learning.

My homeschooler feels this way about CTCMath. We’ve tried on many math curricula, and she always says CTCMath feels the best.
