Greek Mythology has it all: heroes, villains, friendship, love, deception, snake hair, sea monsters, really cool shape-shifters, and Cyclops. The stories are captivating. The gods and goddesses lure readers, even the most resistant, into their adventures.
My children, thanks to a little strewing, have spent the last three weeks inviting Zeus, Apollo, Odysseus, Percy Jackson, and all sorts of other characters into their imaginations. In the car, at bedtime, and lunch, we devour books, audiobooks, and movies.
Below is a list of our favorite ways to learn and experience Greek Mythology. If you’re looking for a read-aloud, chapter book series or a great addition to movie night, be sure to check these out.

Traveling to Greece with Children
My kids love learning about the Greek Myths and we’ve listened to the WHOLE ENTIRE Percy Jackson series three times now. We just started in with Apollo and so far it’s a hit!
That is awesome! We are listening to Apollo too! It’s great. The movies are pretty awesome too. Too bad they stopped making them.
Yeah my boys were so bummed too! We even visited the Athena Parthenon in Tennessee when we were there and got to see some of the leftover movie prompts.
That’s good to know about. How fun!
Mythology is so fun! We’ve been studying it recently and watched the old Clash of the Titans movie. We haven’t read Percy Jackson yet, but I bet my kids would love it!
It is! Oh- we should watch that. I’m not sure I ever have. Did they like it?
