Description
Can anyone be a hero? Kelly Barnhill, the author of The Girl Who Drank the Moon, thinks so! We’ll use her advice for writers to create unusual, unexpected characters of our own!
Students are invited to learn from Kelly Barnhill and use her writing and advice to writers to create an unexpected character of their own.
This class includes writing prompts and fast writing. Students do not have to be interested in writing to enjoy this class.
Materials-
Students will need something to write on and something to write with.
Class Structure-
In this writing class, students will create an unexpected character of their own. Students will find my classroom is a place to have fun, practice, and not worry about being perfect!

Teaching Style-
I believe in student-centered learning and the importance of structure in a classroom. I use materials to help students connect and find interest.
Prior Experience-
Students do not need prior knowledge or experience with creative writing to learn and/or enjoy this class.
