Description
What makes a paragraph a paragraph? How much information is needed to be considered well-developed? Does a paragraph have to be a certain number of sentences?
Let’s explore paragraph writing.
We’ll start with the paragraph sandwich metaphor and quickly learn that, like a sandwich, some paragraphs are as simple as a grilled cheese, and others are more complex, like a triple-decker club.
We’ll look at paragraph structure in both fictional and non-fictional texts, and students will have time to use a topic or interest they have to write several paragraphs.
Materials-
Students will need something to write on and something to write with.
Class Structure-
In this writing class, students will look at the structure of a paragraph and use what they learn to write well-developed paragraphs. I use short, fun exercises to help kids find interest and write. Students will find my classroom is a place to have fun, practice, and not worry about being perfect!
Class Agenda-
