A couple of months ago, my eight-year-old asked if I’d give her art lessons. She’s been in love with drawing for years but was resistant to any formal instruction. Every couple days, upon her request, we sat down together. She wanted to learn how to shade and how to make a human look human. I love art, I have taken a lot of art classes over the years, and honestly, I was really excited she wanted to start classes of her own, but putting together art lessons started to feel pretty daunting. Then I remembered hearing about online art classes from Masterpiece Society. Fast forward through a number of lessons and we are in love!

We started with Alisha’s free class, the Impressionist-Style Blue Bird. In this class, she teaches mixing colors, layering, and impressionist techniques. In all of her classes, Alisha’s teaching style is playful. She builds the artist’s confidence and enjoyment.
My daughter loves being able to paint with the teacher and pause the instruction when she needs more time. She also loves all the art supplies we’ve recently acquired. Thanks to Michaels and their coupons, we didn’t spend much at all and they should last her a good long while.
We just lost our 17-year-old kitty. It just so happens a cat that looks just like him is one of the projects.
