Short stories have a little bit of everything! Great characterization, plot development, conflict, a climax, and hopefully a resolution. They’re also short, which makes them the perfect genre to write from start to finish this summer!
In this week-long creative writing summer camp, writers create a short story. They’ll also have time to play writing games, offer feedback to their fellow writers, and share their writing.
In each class, we’ll use creative activities and writing to explore elements of short story writing, including characterization, setting, conflict, climax, and resolution. We’ll also talk about brainstorming, revising, and editing.
