The seasons are about to change. We’ve made Artist Trading Cards, sent them to one another, and used them to find new stories and poems, and now, it’s time to share the cards we received and the ideas they inspired.

Class Details

Materials–

Students will need:

• Artist Trading Cards they received
• Writing they did inspired by the cards

Class Structure–

In this class, students will share the Artist Trading Cards they received and any writing they wrote to the cards.

Students will find my classroom is a place to have fun, practice, and not worry about being perfect!

Typical Class Agenda-

• Welcome Activity
• Fast write on an ATC
• Time to Share
• Closing activity

Teaching Style-

I believe in student-centered learning and in the importance of structure in a classroom. I set classroom agreements to help create a safe, fun, inspiring space for all students to feel supported, want to participate, and be able to learn. I encourage participation but do not force it. I use materials to help students connect and find interest.

Interaction-

I encourage participation throughout the class through both the chat and verbal. I make sure to answer all questions and call on all students who wish to participate. Students will interact with each other through discussion and when sharing their writing.

Prior Experience-

Students do not need prior knowledge or experience with ATC cards or letter writing to learn and/or enjoy this class.

Recommended Age

This class is recommended for kids of all ages. Families are welcome to join.
