Filled, FILLED with lessons, activities, and resources, the creator and teacher, Lotus, provides everything your homeschooler needs to learn about and love art and art history. I wish we’d found this membership sooner. Art History Kids will be a part of our homeschool curriculum for many years to come.
Below you’ll see all the reasons why we are so in love AND (I’m really excited to share) a link for you to get access to a full month for free!

Five Reasons We ❤️ Art History Kids
1. Monthly Artist Study
Each month a new artist study is released. The study includes a weekly pdf filled with everything your homeschooler would ever want or need to know about the artist, along with activities and resources to take the learning further.
So far we have completed the Salvador Dali unit and are in the middle of the Romare Bearden unit. Both are wonderful!
2. Live Art History Classes
Each month Lotus holds two live classes where students can interact with her and the community. These classes are engaging and connect the students with the artist. They also encourage students to use what they are learning to create their own art.
3. Resources
There are so many resources for members. There are technique demonstrations, scheduling guides, planning pages, a course for parents, tips on how to make space in your homeschool day, and tips for how to talk with your kids about art.
4. Archive of Lessons
One of my favorite parts of the membership is the option to download an archived unit each month at no addional cost. We are working our way through Furry Friends with Frida Kahlo and The Great Wave.
These units allow kids to pick the artist they want to study and/or connect with artists who are relevant to other topics you’re studying. For example, The Great Wave by Hokusai unit is a wonderful addition to our BookShark Literature with History Unit on Japan.
5. The Goal
The lessons and resources provide a number of things our family values and want to make sure our homeschooler has access to. Their goals are:
Goal of Art History Kids
- To introduce kids to art.
- Let them come to their own conclusions.
- And, encourage their own individual creativity.
