Description
The Journeys We Take Unit Study asks learners to examine the journeys they and others embark on during their lives. Some of the travels they’ll look at explore the past, some imagine what could be, and others will be up to them to create.
In this unit, learners will read The Turtles of Oman by Naomi Shihab Nye. They’ll travel to Oman, learn about the sea turtles that come to Oman’s shores each year, and explore Naomi Shihab Nye’s poetry.
In their writing, learners will look at the idea of a journey in the literal and figurative sense. They’ll take journeys to places near and far and travel inside their hearts and minds.
