Description

Research can be riveting! In this class, students will learn some of the basics of conducting research and begin a research project on a topic they find interesting. The class will introduce students to the importance of finding reliable sources, citing sources and information, and notetaking.

Students will need to come up with a topic and have books or articles on hand prior to watching the class.

Materials-

Students will need something to write on and something to write with.
3-4 books or articles on a topic they are interested in exploring.

Class Structure-

In this class, students will learn how to research. I use short, fun exercises to help kids find information and take notes. Students will find my classroom is a place to have fun, practice, and not worry about being perfect!

Teaching Style-

I believe in student-centered learning and in the importance of structure in a classroom. I use materials to help students connect and find interest.

Prior Experience-

Students do not need prior knowledge or experience with research to learn and/or enjoy this class.

Recommended Age-

This class is recommended for kids 8+. Families are welcome to join. Writers can write, have a scribe, or use speech-to-text.
