Description
This reading comprehension strategies course will help YOU help your kids and students learn and use reading strategies!
We all use reading strategies when we read, whether we realize it or not. Some of us do so intuitively, and some of us need direct instruction.
Reading strategies are the tools that help kids who are having a hard time understanding or remembering what they are reading. They also help all readers unpack the text so that they can discuss, think critically, and write about what they’ve learned and are thinking about.
Packed with activities and resources, I’ve included the tools I use and have used for the last 20 years, both in the classroom and at home. In this course, we’ll focus on seven reading strategies: prediction, connection, inference, visualization, clarification, questioning, and evaluation. Each class includes a video lesson and activities to help students learn and practice reading strategies.
