Act like your spaceship just crash-landed on Neptune, and the first being you see when you open the ship’s doors is a walking, talking cat. OR come up with a character who is lost but can’t use the word lost or a synonym for lost. In this fun, one-hour class, we’ll play improv games!
Improv offers us creative ways to get out of our comfort zone and need to be perfect. These games help us go with our first thoughts, something writers need to do, and support one another’s ideas by playing off them.
Teaching Style-
I believe in student-centered learning and in the importance of structure in a classroom. I set classroom agreements to help create a safe, fun, inspiring space for all students to feel supported, want to participate, and be able to learn. I encourage participation but do not force it. I use materials to help students connect and find interest.
Interaction-
I encourage participation throughout the class through both the chat and verbally. I make sure to answer all questions and call on all students who wish to participate. Students will interact with each other through improv games.
Prior Experience-
Students do not need prior knowledge or experience with improv to learn and/or enjoy this class.
