Is there anything better than a good story? Fiction, fantasy, science fiction, memoir, my kids and I spend a good part of each day together reading. Right now we’re reading Peter and the Starcatchers before bed. When the chapters are over (or I’m falling asleep) and it’s time for bed, they head to their rooms and turn on audio books. One likes to listen to Percy Jackson and Harry Potter; the other loves Wings of Fire. Magic, dragons, and tails of demigods fill our upstairs. In the morning, their audiobooks turned back on, they linger in bed and finish chapters. We often read our family read aloud again during breakfast and maybe lunch. I’m thankful our days are filled with story.
